Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for your gender, date of birth, how you would describe your general health, tobacco use, the death benefit amount you want, and how many years you want coverage. Those six pieces of information are all we need to show you what carriers quote. Your name, address, and detailed health history are only collected if you decide to move forward with an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

The rates shown are what each carrier quotes for the health level you selected. The carrier's underwriting process may confirm that class, move you to a better class, or change it based on additional information they find. Nothing displayed here is a guarantee of a specific price, and the final premium is determined after underwriting. No quote on this site is an offer of insurance or a binding agreement.

What happens when I click Apply?

After you pick a carrier and choose Apply, the application begins on the carriers' secure platform with your answers already filled in. You can save your progress and come back anytime. When you are ready, you sign electronically. The application is processed by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129).

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, the coverage amount, and your health answers. Many carriers now offer immediate decisions for applicants who qualify, skipping the paramedical exam entirely. Each quote on this site shows whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that specific product.

Is a longer term better?

A term should match how long your dependents would be hurt by losing your income: a mortgage that takes 20 years to pay off, children who will take 18 years to become independent, a business loan that matures in 10 years. Longer terms lock in a rate for more years but cost more each month. The quote tool lets you see the cost difference across 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years from every carrier.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool never asks for your contact information, we do not buy or sell information about visitors, and our measurement system does not use cookies. Read the privacy page to see the complete picture of what gets collected and by who.
